Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera

aloe vera plantAloe Vera is a succulent (water retaining) plant that resembles a cactus and grows in warm semi arid climates. Aloe Vera has been in use for a long time, its most common use is probably for skin care. It is very common for people to use Aloe Vera for a daily skin moisturizer or during seasons where they have dry skin. It is also good to use for sunburns, especially when it is kept in the refrigerator or in cooler temperatures. When applied to sunburn it will cool down the overheated skin, while at the same time moisturize and put nutrients back into the skin, thus lessening the damage and helping to treat the already damaged skin. Aloe Vera is also used to treat more severe and major burns.

Aloe Vera gels and extracts can treat many skin diseases. From relieving the symptoms of eczema and psoriasis, to making wounds and burns heal faster, the extracts of Aloe Vera are really something against skin diseases. It also can be used to cure or relieve more delicate conditions like genital warts or fungi. Aloe Vera is also a powerful anti-oxidant. There have been studies that Aloe Vera does indeed help against such conditions as arthritis, asthma, liver disorders and kidney infection. As Aloe Vera can help skin infection, arthritis, asthma, liver disorders, kidney infection; etc., it will probably help you with a cold, hence it acts as an immunostimulant.
The gel made from Aloe Vera can be used to treat various skin diseases and there is both a theoretical and practical basis on which Aloe Vera could act as a cure for symptoms of eczema. This is possibly because chemicals in Aloe Vera activate the immune system - eczema acts like an allergy, and when the immune system is more active, there is a good that eczema can be relieved.
By being a temporary cure for an awful disease, Aloe Vera was subjected to many people running with the hype and using it as a marketing tool by people who highly overestimated the possibilities of Aloe Vera. Although you can read wonders about Aloe Vera on the internet, the sad truth is that Aloe Vera doesn't fight cancer, or make you lose weight. Aloin, one of the many chemicals in Aloe Vera, is a laxative, but aloin was banned from use by FDA in 2003. Aloin is now filtered from Aloe Vera extracts so you can't really get it anywhere.
Although some people are telling stories that are hard to believe about the herb, Aloe Vera is indeed very impressive in terms of health helpfulness. The only other natural medicine that could rival the health benefits of Aloe Vera is garlic.
In fact, the injections of Aloe Vera in cancer patients have been linked to numerous deaths (and a consequent loss of a medical license) back in 1997. As with any holistic remedy, when you're dealing with health related stuff, common sense is the first step, then comes research, and then, only then comes the treatment!
